Orca pods often centre around a strong matriarchal figure, and although it is rare to see an orca swimming alone I wanted to focus on this single powerful figure for this piece. It makes me think of their silent power cutting through the water. To me orcas have such duality; they are so endearing but also so formidable - a species to be celebrated and respected.
